Belize, May 2003

This is the view to the north from the balcony. As you can tell, the beaches weren't extra "beachy" where we were. The barrier reef is just off the coast of Ambergris Caye -- you can actually see the waves breaking on it on the horizon -- so that creates a protected area. There's lots of sea grass (the dark patches), and if you wanted to swim you would take a walk off the pier. But chillin' on the beach was fine for us. We got in the water for our snorkeling trips.
